General Summary

:


Under the supervision of a registered nurse and/or physician, provides basic nursing care to patients in Imaging. Takes patient vital signs, prepares patients for scheduled procedures and Imaging consults and provides health care instruction/ education to patient and family members. Assists physicians with examinations/consults, and other processes related to direct patient care. Performs a variety of Imaging administrative duties such as, coordinating Imaging exams and procedures and scheduling them in Epic, making phone calls to patients and doctors to coordinate scheduling, completing patient follow-ups as needed and reviewing patient EMR for allergies, valid order, laboratory values and medications.


Duties and Responsibilities:

1 Arranges for patient’s ordered diagnostic and therapeutic services by scheduling Imaging exams, coordinating with the modality, nursing and the provider schedule.
2 Provides general nursing care to patients while in Imaging, including bathing, dressing, eating, changing bed linens and bed pans and positioning.
3 Maintains a safe, comfortable and therapeutic environment for patients/families in accordance with hospital standards.
4 Helps patients get into and out of chairs, turns the patients and assists Imaging staff with procedural positioning.
5 Checks patient's vital signs.
6 Monitors medical condition of patients and reports changes to the nurse or provider.
7 Prepares patients for scheduled procedures and Imaging consults.
8 Assists physicians with examinations/consults, and other processes related to direct patient care.
9 Provides health care instruction/education to patient and family members.
10 Ensures accurate maintenance of patients' medical records and that patient records are treated as confidential information.
11 Performs a variety of Imaging administrative duties.

Required Skills

Post High School Vocational/Specialized Training from an accredited LPN program
Current LPN license in PA required 
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required

Required Experience

1 - 2 years experience required
